⚔️ Abrège vs Transcribbit
Transcribbit gives you the transcript. Abrège leads with the summary.
Transcribbit is a WhatsApp contact aimed at freelancers and small businesses: you forward a voice note and the transcript comes back in the same chat. Summaries exist, but only on paid plans and, according to its FAQ, only in English. Abrège works the other way round: every note gets a summary first, on the free tier too, and the full transcription follows.
When is Transcribbit a good choice?
Credit where it's due: Transcribbit does things Abrège doesn't. On paid plans it translates the transcript into 31 languages (Abrège can write the summary in another language, never a translated transcript), it handles video as well as audio, and it claims 50+ transcription languages. Its free tier is counted in minutes per day (3 minutes a day, up to 50 transcriptions a month), which beats our 5 summaries a month if you get lots of short notes. And if you dislike subscriptions, its 250-minute pack is a one-off $4.99. Prices checked in September 2026, in US dollars.
What does Abrège do differently from Transcribbit?
The difference is what lands first. With Transcribbit, the default output is the transcript: a 4-minute voice note comes back as 4 minutes of reading. Summaries are a paid option, triggered above a length threshold you pick, and their FAQ says they are appended below the transcript in English. With Abrège, the summary is the product: every note, free plan included, comes back as the key points, dates, amounts, names and questions, in the language of the note or in English, French, Spanish, Arabic or Portuguese if you prefer. The full transcription follows in the same thread (on by default for new accounts). Our prices are in euros: 5 summaries a month free, then from €3 a month.

Frequently asked questions
- Yes, on paid plans only, and only for notes above a length threshold you choose (2, 3 or 5 minutes). Their FAQ says the summary is appended below the full transcript, in English. On Abrège, every note gets a summary, free plan included, in the note's language or one of five you can pick.
- It depends on how you count. Transcribbit counts minutes: 3 free a day, then a $4.99 pack of 250 minutes or $14.99 a month for 1,000 (US dollars, checked September 2026). Abrège counts voice notes, whatever their length: 5 free a month, then from €3 a month for 50 (euros). Lots of short notes favours them; long notes favour us.
- No. Abrège can write the summary in English, French, Spanish, Arabic or Portuguese whatever language the note is in, but the full transcription stays in the original language. If you need a word-for-word translation, Transcribbit's paid plans do that.
